Elementary Education to Early Childhood Education
An opportunity to gain an associate degree from Delaware Tech and a bachelor's degree from Salisbury University.
Your Path to a Bachelor's Degree
Delaware Tech has established agreements with four-year colleges and universities that connect Delaware Tech associate degree programs with bachelor's degree programs to create smooth transfer opportunities for you. These Connected Degree programs enable you to complete your associate degree and then transfer to a four-year degree program as a junior.
The Connected Degree 2+2 Curriculum
Delaware Tech's Elementary Education degree will prepare graduates to transfer to a four-year college or university to complete a bachelor's degree and become certified to teach in an elementary school. A focus on educational strategies is an important aspect of the program. Students will have the opportunity to interact with children in a classroom setting through observation and service learning experiences, and will learn the instructional strategies that support the Delaware common core standards for reading, writing, and mathematics. Salisbury University's Bachelor of Science degree program in Early Childhood Education is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education and approved by the Maryland State Department of Education for elementary school teacher certification (Pre-K-Grade 3). As a teacher candidate majoring in Early Childhood Education, the student is expected to complete a rigorous program of study which meets state and national standards. Candidates who successfully complete the requirements graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree from the Department of Teacher Education in the Seidel School of Education and Professional Studies.
