Emily Ransdell

Energy Management, Renewable Energy Solar

Emily Ransdell has always been enthusiastic about discovering the solutions needed to offset the harmful practices that ultimately damage our planet. The passion she has for the environment and its well-being influenced Ransdell to select energy management with an emphasis on renewable energy solar as her program of study at Delaware Tech.

“I feel that I can make the most positive impact on our planet by pursuing a career in energy,” Ransdell said.

She is already on her way to making a difference in the energy management field through her acceptance into the highly competitive summer internship with the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). Throughout this internship, Ransdell will be researching energy landscapes with the objective to build a deep understanding of how diverse the various approaches to global energy transformation initiatives are around the globe.

In addition to her studies, Ransdell keeps herself involved with campus life. She is a member of the Student Government Association (SGA), Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Honor Society, the knit and crochet club, while also being a part of the Work Study program.

Since beginning her college career, Ransdell has found that she is capable of doing more than she had previously thought. “I’ve noticed that I am more willing to step up and take on a position of leadership than I was before. Being at Delaware Tech has given me confidence in my abilities and newfound knowledge.”

For other students starting their journey with the College, Ransdell’s advice is to get as involved as possible, because the connections that can be made could open a world of opportunities.

Ransdell’s future plans include transferring to Wilmington University, through Delaware Tech’s connected degree program, in pursuit of her bachelor’s in environmental science and policy.

Following the completion of her studies, Ransdell would love to one day be a part of the national energy transition to renewables on a federal level.
